The Mikko N' Fortus - Impulses for Destruction UltraRes cab pack contains 95 User Cab IRs produced for Fractal Audio Systems by ML Sound Lab in collaboration with Richard Fortus (Guns N Roses). This collection includes separate IRs of all four speakers of the cabinet to give you the full variety of its tones. This pack also includes mixed IRs, with intentional inter-microphone phasing to add the unique but pleasant character we expect when using multiple microphones on a real guitar cabinet.

This pack comes with 11 Preset-Cab Bundles created by Richard Fortus and Mikko Logrn.
Please note that Preset/Cab Bundles included with this Cab Pack were made with the Axe-Fx II. They will not work with newer products, although you may be able to convert them using 3rd party options.
User Cabs may be easily uploaded to your Axe-Fx II using Fractal-Bot, Axe-Edit, or Cab-Lab. This pack also includes the high resolution .IR files required to create your own original multi-mic UltraRes mixes in Cab-Lab. Please remember: It is illegal to share Cab Mixes containing these or any commercial IRs.
SPEAKERS AND MICROPHONES
The ML Brit Fortus 4x12 is based on a Marshall JCM Slash Signature 1960AV 4x12 Guitar Cabinet with Celestion Vintage Speakers.
Microphones used include:
  • Shure SM57
  • Royer R121
  • Sennheiser e906
  • Sennheiser MD421
  • Beyerdynamic M160
Each microphone was used on each speaker of the cabinet. They were positioned in a variety of locations, listening and measuring to find "sweet spots". Different speakers are marked with letters A (bottom left speaker), B (bottom right speaker), C (top right speaker) and D (top left speaker). The numbers mentioned after the letters describe different variations of the mic position. The Mixes folder includes mixed IRs with real life phase that we are used to hearing when using multiple microphones on a real guitar cabinet. The Ace folder includes our personal picks of the best material in this collection.

This Cab Packs was produced and engineered by Mikko Logrn of ML Sound Lab and Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses.
